How much do you hate Todd's commentary here? Or, are you in the minority who think he might have a point? Most of us at Everyday Driver just plead the fifth. We have to work with these guys!

I think he has a point. Besides, the Porsche design team has it easiest job on the face of the planet. I'm pretty sure their meetings go something like this:

"Vell Heinz, how should ve facelift ze car dis year? New headlights, ja?"

Laughing

I'm also in agreement with this, Especially given the stunted potential of the cayman. I want RUF to release a 997turbo powered cayman, that would just be perfect.

I was talking to one of my porschenut friends, and it was funny just listening to him stutter and bluster about it. "It..its the CARERRA! of course it's going to be the most powerful!" Right, so why not stop making it, or rename the cayman to the carerra? I mean come on, its the next natural progression in the evolution of the worlds best selling sportscar! "b..but its THE CARRERRA!" seriously, and when I said that stuttgart should offer a 997 powered cayman he just threw a fit "WELL IF ITS SO DAMNED IMPORTANT JUST PAY RUF TO DO IT!"

I've never laughed so hard in my life, his expression was priceless.
I can understand the desire to keep a classic design, and often that redesigns could go tragically wrong (remember when the ford Probe was going to be the new mustang? Or when the corollas and celicas went FWD? Or even the new beetle, despite its popularity, its...just not the same. ) But this seems to be completely diffrent, something newer, and better! more control, more useable speed, more space, (a trunk AND a frunk!) and all in a design that's way sexier than even the 997 (really hard to do!). It saddens me that porsche is holding themselves back. COME ON PORSCHE! if you won't retire the carerra, at least please, please please, give us a flat six TT cayman!
